My name is Kimmy Larsson and I was born November 15, 1994. In March 1996, me and my parents moved from Sweden to Troy (outside Detroit), Michigan in USA where we lived for four years. Then, in April 2000, we moved to Hinwil, Switzerland.
My biggest interest has always been Gokart. I started driving when I was five years old and when I was seven I got my first own Kart. It was a used, a few years old one and I was extremely happy!! At last I had my very own Kart and could drive when I wanted to! Also I could start racing.
My first race was in Sundgau, France and it didn't go very well... I had an accident and my Kart rolled over twice. That was it, I had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance. After some x-rays they found that I had broken my left arm in two places and they put my whole arm in a cast.
We went back to the track to pack our things and go home and this is when I got my first Prize ever. I was very proud! Even if I had made a salto (or rather two!) with my Kart, I hadn't ended up at the last place in the total.
My first Race and my first Prize! Sundgau in France, 2002.
Now, no more racing for a while, driving with this cast was not to think of. My mom actually wanted me to give up gokarting for good, but this I was not prepared to do. So, as soon as I got rid of the cast I was in the seat again. At the beginning, I drove with the accident still in my mind but after a few rounds everything was back to normal and I felt totally at ease. Finally back where I felt I belonged!
2003, I still drove in the Mini class and did a few races but drove mostly for fun. The following season, 2004, I did some more races and managed to finish 2nd in total in our Club Championship. Also, I won some races. For example here in Vesoul, France:
May 2004: My first win in Mini, Vesoul, France.
2005, I "moved up" a category, from Mini to Supermini which is a class in which you can drive when you are 10-13 years old. (For Mini the age is 8-10 years).
March 2005: Coppa di Primavera in my Supermini, Osogna, CH.
2006, I drove my first season in the Rotax Max Junior Challenge which is a national Championship for drivers aged 13-16. Here you drive with a standard, two-stroke 125 cc engine. At this time I was only 11 years old but I was allowed to drive with the older drivers.

Prize Ceremony, Rotax Max Junior Challenge, Levier, France, 2006.
I am very happy with my first season in this category. To drive against the older drivers were hard but I learned a lot. After 18 races in the Rotax Max Junior Challenge I finished 4th out of 20 drivers. A result I am very proud of and for this I was rewarded the title: Swiss Champion Rotax Max Mini 2006.
The last race for this season was the Winter Kart Cup in Wohlen November 4, which I won. It was a really satisfying way to end the 2006 karting season!
